week 31, April 28 - May 2

Students will be able to type appropriately. Students will be able to use Microsoft Word tools to create a report.  Students will be able to create a group project in order to present on a career in forensic science.

Monday
  1. Typing Web (5 minutes)  NO GAMES
  2. Type your incident report. Watch the video showing you how to set it up!   (YouTube)
  3. Remember that this is the report that you started with Mrs. Bangma. You will be following the same format that of the incident report that you were given by Mrs. Bangma. (The example is below if you forgot it.) Watch the video here to see my (awesome) video on formatting your report correctly.

Monday

  1. What is forensic science? presentation
  2. Worksheet Fill this out as you watch the video in the above presentation.
    •  (You will need to be signed into your email account.  Then go to "File", "Make a copy", and the worksheet will be added to your account and you can edit it.)
  3. Now that we know what forensic science is, we need to define some terms so we can use them correctly throughout our unit.  Click on the presentation.  Find your name and IN YOUR OWN WORDS, define the term and find a picture for your term. (Make sure it is all school appropriate.) I have given you an example to look at.  I also remembered to change the settings so that you can all edit the document.  :)
  4. Once you have watched the video and completed the vocabulary assignment, explore the forensic science links on Stem Works.  (Click here!)

Week 27

Spreadsheets!

 Students will be able to enter data into a spreadsheet, format the table, and create a graph with their data.  Students will be able to create a questionnaire using Google Forms and understand how to use the data collection tools of Google Forms.  Students will create an info-graphic with the data that they collected.

MONDAY
Plan for class- 
  1. warm-up : Complete the three activities here
  2. Excel project
    • Look at your graph.  In a document labeled, "8_last name_graph reflection", answer:
        1. Why did you choose this type of graph?
        2. Do you think that your graph accurately represents your data?

  3. Google form questionnaire 
    • Complete in Google Drive as a form.
    • You can choose any template you want.
    • You need at least 5 questions about 1 topic.
    • Share with every student in our class. List of e-mails.
  4. Create infographics


WEDNESDAY
Plan for class-
